Yesterday's workout was beyond painful. IT was excruciating I must say. You see when I was a child I had to wear the Forest Gump braces on my legs to get them to line up correctly. Apparently the pain with those on were unbearable and my parents decided to forego any additional pain and had them removed. Fast forward 27 years and now I have the most jacked up legs of any female you have ever known. See if you put your feet together you can stand normally. I on the other hand would have to bend my knees to allow my feet to touch. Not comfortable by any measure. Apparently after years of physical therapy during swimming and water polo we came to the conclusion that my femur and patella of both my legs do not line up correctly which diminishes my cartlidge in my knees leaving me with bone rubbing against bone. So after Saturday's intense workout coupled with the anything less than flat surface we ran on....ouch! my knees hurt. BUT...DONT WORRY! I am still going to run it just means I have to take extra precautions such as braces and tape. We all know I would never run all 26.2 miles of the marathon as I am finding out it is a rare breed who can. However, I am committed to finishing and ending this challenge at the finish line of the marathon. I may have to walk more than I anticipated but I have 5 months well a little less to build up my endurance and stamina and I promise to you to make it across the finish line.
NOW...Can someone please buy some candy bars or raffle tickets to I can make this thing financially? ANY donations will be accepted. I promise to you that if you eat a candy bar that you bought from me a delicious milk chocolate candy bar from See's I will help you run your calories off. :) JUST BUY THE DARN THING! ($1.50 per bar there are 4 different flavors or $5.00 per raffle ticket to win a GPS, a GARMIN Watch(keeps heart rate, gps, trackes mileage and you can download your workout to your computer to watch your endurance increase, and finally a TREK bike) wow that was long. All proceeds to benefit Leukemia Lymphoma Society and my fundraising campaign.
SO back to the workout. I made two miles..and I won't lie I mostly had to walk but hey I was out there and for that I am proud. Today and I on the hunt for a good brace and I am open to suggestions if you know of any good ones. Tonight is cross training for me...less of an impact and it is in my training schedule I am not trying to slack...I SWEAR :)
