Church..

Madisen today was your second time going to church and you did wonderful. We went to church today because your Grandpa (aka Gramps) was introduced as the pastor. How exciting is that? When we first arrived your Grandma gave me a card that was so fitting. It says, "Ask and it will be given to you; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. (Matthew 7:7-8)"

It was interesting to me that your Grandma gave me this card. I have had this on my facebook for a year or so now and I have lived by that the whole time your father and I struggled to have a child. Throughout life you will pray to God for a lot of things and I hope you always remember to knock because God is always listening. But sometimes you must remember that not all of your prayers will be answered but what you must remember is to thank God for unanswered prayers for he knows what is best for you. There is so much you will never understand in your life but you will look back and appreciate all the unanswered prayers and God's plan for you. Trust me there have been so many times when I was down right mad at God but I can honestly look back today and see why certain things went the way they did.

During church you were fussy in the beginning but I gave you a bottle and you got quiet pretty quick. Then the music came on and you were hooked. Mommy held and rocked you to the music and sang to you. You just stared at the screen and looked back and forth at the lights and you were so calm and were cooing. You LOVE music. Holding you today I had a hard time holding back tears as we sang. While I was trying not to cry you were quietly falling asleep and you were so calm.

Then they announced your Grandpa as the new Pastor and the woman speaking asked for everyone to be quiet and what did you do...you started to make noise almost started to cry but thankfully I was able to keep you peaceful...whew close one. You are definitely a girl with a mind of her own. Much like how you hate when I stop the card at a stop sign or a red light you aren't too excited when someone turns your music off either. I hope that you continue to do well in church. I don't want to ever have to put you in the cry room ;)

PS Grandpa, we are so happy for you. We know that you will be great now go and be and do amazing things, you have a church to grow and we couldn't be prouder.
