Something fun!

As I was looking online I found a few websites that describe the milestones for each week of a babies life much like each week in pregnancy. I thought it would be fun to compare the website to Madisen to see how she is in comparison. This is something I will try to keep up each week. I keep this blog as a journal for Maddie so that someday she can read about her life and what was going on when she was a baby and to have a timeline of events in her life. I am so excited for her to read it one day. Her dad gives me a hard time because my Mom literally kept everything from my childhood. I think I have like 10 scrapbooks and I love to look at them even now and I hope Madisen feels the same way about this blog. I also keep a baby book for her as well but someday I will print everything out from my blog and have it binded probably each year so that way she has another memento of her childhood. I think adding these comparisons will be fun for her to see as well. So this week babiesonline.com says:

Week 11 Milestones

At this point your baby may turn his head when he hears you talking. This is his way of recognizing and acknowledging you when you speak to him. When you pull him to a sitting position, he may be able to keep his head steady and in line with the rest of his body.

Madisen is most definitely turning her head especially when it is Mommy or Daddy doing the talking and she offers us a big smile almost every time. She loves to be read to especially Goodnight Moon :) She has been able to keep her head steady for about two weeks now when you hold her and she coos like crazy. This little girl loves to look around at the world around her.

My best friend Cassie and I took her shopping and out to eat today. When we went to the restaurant she started to fuss quite a bit. I tried giving her a bottle but she refused so I picked her up from her car seat and held her and she fell right to sleep. All she wanted was for Mommy to hold her. I am getting used to using my left hand to eat. Who knows maybe one day my left hand will be strong enough for me to write with it too.

It is important for me that Madisen get out and about because I believe that kids who are kept sheltered never learn how to behave in society. I refuse to be a prisoner in my own home and I want Madisen to know that I expect her to behave like a little lady while we are out and about but today's fussy session almost did me in and the old lady staring at me sure wasn't helping. But Maddie showed her, once she got comfortable she was a happy little baby and was on her best behavior.

We also went shopping which she already loves because she gets to ride in her stroller and she loves to be moving. But stop the stroller to look at anything...well she gets a little unhappy but she is getting better at that too! Today was a great day and I am so blessed to have such good friends and since I am an only child they all do a very good job at feeling in as aunties. Cassie has been my best friend for darn near my entire life and we live so far apart that days like this are extremely precious to me and I hope she knows how much Madisen and I love her.
