Yesterday's training was a lot less overwhelming one could say. While I still felt the sense that an asthma attack was bound to occur at any given moment, my legs felt quite good. If I could just figure of how to breathe correctly while running that would be fantastic. I am dreading Saturday and the early morning wake up call as well as the addition of another mile. However, each day I thank God for the opportunity to be healthy enough to participate in this event. Every time the run gets hard I think of all of the lives that have been dramatically impacted by Cancer and it helps to give me the strength to keep moving.
Neal was happy enough that I kept a smile on my face and he wasn't getting the look of death from me while he shared with me breathing techniques. I do feel bad because I know my running pace isn't what you would call ideal for him but I appreciate that he is sticking right there next to me. It helps to make me feel a little less of loser who can barely run.
The shoes felt great today after I wore them all day to work determined to make them work. They are a little flashy for running shoes but hey that is what fit the feet. Workouts in the past have been plagued by bad footwear allowing me to miss out on bridal shows while planning our wedding because I couldn't put my foot down flat for fear of God that my leg would snap in half. (I now realize that this was a blessing in disguise) Neal had to take me to Walmart to get me medicine for my aches and pains and along the way we picked up Icy Hot. I am not a huge fan of Icy Hot because it made me feel like I was on crack after lathering it up and rubbing it on my legs. What person in their right minds when they are already in pain wants to add the Icy then Hot sensations to their legs. Won't be using any of that any time soon I hope.
I only hope that I can survive another workout today because tomorrow is scheduled for a rest day. Finally, a day I can look forward to! :)

You GO Moe!
ReplyDeleteI so proud of you, and your dedication to help others. One thing I know about you is if you set your mind to it there is NO stoping you. Although a little gentle Persuasion never hurt right Neal? This world needs a lot more Chaundra's right now. Someone who is willing to set a side thier comforts to help other who are less fortunate and in need of a little help to make it through another day with a promise of a brighter tomorrow.
Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing you cross that finish line in San Diego.
Love Dad
