5 Weeks Old

Madisen this week you are 5 weeks old. Can you believe how fast time flys by? Things have been getting so much easier around here. You are doing great on your schedule and we have found out that you loved to be swaddled in order to get any kind of decent sleep. We love watching you grow and still continued to be amazed that God has allowed us to be your Mommy and Daddy.

This week you met your Grandpa Neal and Grandma Mary and your Auntie Jenny for the first time. You love them soo much and your Grandpa like your Daddy hates bows in your hair. He thinks that they are a torture device. They bought you an amazing little tea set and Mommy and Daddy cannot wait until you are old enough to play with it.

This week you also met all of your cousins on your Grandma Deborah's side. You went to your very first wine party and you did so well. You had the cutest dress and bow on. Everyone loved you and you loved all of those very loud and drunk Portuguese women. And in true Grandma fashion she rarely gave you up to allow anyone else to hold you. Crazy Grandma.

Daddy has been back to work now for two weeks and he misses you like crazy. He calls every day to check up on you and loves to kiss you before he goes to work, when he is home from lunch and we he gets home from a long day at work he likes to come home and cuddle and feed you. It melts my heart still and probably always will how much he loves you.

Here are a few highlights from 5 weeks.

-You wake at 6AM to eat and you fall back to sleep until 8:30 or 9AM

-You are on a schedule most days. Unless we have company which you love but it really does a number on your schedule and your mood. ;)

-You are still doing great at eating. You eat every three hours during the day.You are like clockwork when it comes to your food.

-We have been spending some time on your tummy this week and you love it. You are such a big girl because you can lift your head and move it left to right and we think that soon enough you will be rolling over.

-You are continuing to smile a lot. You make us laugh because you always stare up at the corner of the living room and smile soo big which is kind of creepy because we aren't to sure what is up there. Grandma says it is angels and your Grandpa Neal says it is ghosts :)

-You are beginning to coo and make some really sweet noises. Mommy caught you cracking up in your car seat this week and it was really cute but not too sure what it was that had you in such a good mood.

-We went for walks this week and you love your stroller and you love to look outside and look around. We went with your Auntie and your cousing Mark and you behaved so well and when we got home you passed out as if you were the one who had been doing all the walking, it was too cute.

-We are still working on your getting to like a pacifier. You really are not a pacifier baby but it would be nice for you to take it occasionally when you are fussy.

-You are starting to lose your hair. After all you are an Olsen ;)

-You are still in size one diapers. We have gone through a lot of diapers and here is what we know. We love Pampers not such big fans of Huggies or the Target Brand. We also love the smell of Pampers and the Sesame Street characters. I honestly don't think you care as long as someone changes the dirty ones.

-Mommy is obsessed with buying you clothes. I just love all of the little outfits and dresses and you look so stinkin cute in them too. You currently hate to for Mommy or Daddy to put your clothes on you. But once on you are fine it is just the actual dressing up that you can't stand. Oh and you have so many bows I could just scream. Who knew having a little baby girl was going to be so much fun? Especially considering that your momma wasn't much of a girly girl growing up. I hope you love to be girly as you get older.

-We still aren't sure how much you weigh but Mommy will weigh you today on her scale and post it for next weeks post. I am guessing you are pushing close to 11 lbs but I could be wrong. You are really filling out and getting so chubby. It is soo cute and Mommy loves to grab your thighs.

-You LOVE to be swaddled. In fact it is the only way you really sleep good. Mommy wishes she would have figured that out sooner. You were so hard to put to sleep but swaddling is the answer to Mommy's prayers. You also love your white noise machine. You can sleep anywhere in the house and it doesn't matter what noise is around you as long as your noise machine is on.

Mommy and Daddy are looking into getting you baptized and we can hardly wait. Of course Mommy can't wait to go shopping for your outfit. We have been thinking long and hard about God Parents and I feel confident that we have made the right decision.

I can't believe that you are growing up so fast. These have been the best five weeks of my life. It is amazing how much you can make my heart swell with love. I hope you will always know how loved you are and how much we looked forward to holding you in our hands on the day you were born and always. I am so proud to be your mommy.
