6 miles

Yesterday, was my first full attempt to make it 6.2 miles. You see I am preparing myself for a 10k that I plan to do in two weeks in Sanger. I need to get myself to a place where 6.2 miles is a daily occurence if I am going to work up to 26.2 miles. I started off doing 4 miles at the gym on the treadmill. It felt good to get sweaty but I immediately notice how hot and stuffy a gym can be when you are trying to breathe for your life..I mean panting to breathe!
I finished off the next two miles with my friend Tiffany. We walked until my feet felt like they were going to fall off. I am praying for no blisters however, I feel one creeping up on my right foot. But I have to remind myself that this is only a 1/4of what I will have to accomplish on May 31st, 2009.
This weekend I will be training at Yokhol Road and I am looking forward to it. I feel like I have found my place with the walking team. The trainings are jam packed agendas but in the end you know it will be so worth it. My coach has a saying that, "she walks because she cannot walk away." I love that. She is so dedicated to raising money for Leukemia patients that she keeps walking because that is what her heart tells her to do. She inspires me to keep on moving and I hope like her I can participate in more than just one marathon. I would love to be a mentor and help others starting out like me make it to their goal. I am having a blast and loving it and all the while my waist is getting smaller. YAY for that!
I get the See's candy today so everyone place their orders to help me reach my goal of $2,800.00 remember all proceeds go to help a cancer patient fight their unimaginable fight against this deadly disease.
