Today was my firt initial day of training with the walk team. I feel at home with the walk team and have already made some friends. We walked three miles today at the COS track and talked about our reasons for joining TNT and what we hope our bodies will look like at the end of our journey. We tried talking one teammate into walking the full marathon and not only the 1/2 marathon. We know that she could do it. Today's walk was nice and it was nice to be working out with the team. It feels good to be out there and be a part of something. It is amazing how wonderful this team is...I have never met a more supportive group. THEY ROCK!
By the way Neal and I got our candy today and we have already downed 3 whole bars on our own. So we are going to need help devoring them and you the reader are looking like the most likely candidate :) I also enlisted the help of family and friends to help me fundraise and we will most likely be working on a tamale fundraiser. Who doesn't like an already prepared meal for dinner at a cheap price going to a great cause.
Today I heard about another Leukemia victim by the name of Stacy Souza. She has been fighting the disease for about a year and recently received a bone marrow transplant and things are looking dismal. Please keep Stacy in your prayers for a very much needed recovery and allow her to be at peace and her body to be still from the war it has been raging within her. Patients like her help me to keep going. If only we could raise enough to find the cure and another patient never have to suffer again.
Other than that training is going well and dreading waking up at 4:45 AM Saturday morning to get in 6 miles with the team but can't wait for such an amazing experience. I LOVE THIS SO FAR!!!!
BY the way please pray for one of my favorite people in all of this world to ace her interview she has on Thursday. I know she will get it but it can't hurt for extra prayers. She needs peace of mind and I know that her getting this job will help to relax her and help her feel settled. You know who you are and I wish you all the luck! I love you!
