Dr's Appointment

I owe this man and his nurse my life. They have made our dreams come true. There was a time when I walked into his office defeated and told him, "Dr. Swanson, I give up. It is not meant to be, I am not supposed to be a mom. I am going to focus on something else in my life and put all my energy into that." He told me not to give up and reassured me he would make me a Momma. That he did.

Today I had my follow up appointment with him and things went very well. I have lost 20lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight. All together I have lost 35lbs. That is very exciting for me. It has definitely given me the inspiration to move forward on my weight loss journey so that the next time we have a baby I am more healthy and my body is better prepared. We had a healthy pregnancy and we count our blessings but I can't help but think I would have been better off had I been more trim prior to getting pregnant with Madisen.

I have gotten the all clear to take a bath again. I couldn't even imagine what that will be like or what it would feel like to soak my aching body again (not really aching just added that for the dramatic effect). Prior to getting pregnant I took a bubble bath every night. It was were I got all my stress out from the day and I got to spend some quiet alone time.

I am happy to say I took my first bath this evening and even read like 100 pages. Thanks to Neal for watching Madisen and putting her down for a nap all on his own. I am so proud of him, he is a great Dad.

I can't believe that 40 weeks went by so quickly being pregnant and I really can't believe that Madisen is almost 7 weeks old. It was hard to say goodbye to Dr. Swanson and his staff today. They have been such a big part of my life and it is sad to think that I may not see them for 12 months or soo..until the next baby..dun dun dun :) I hope they know how much they mean to Neal and I and how we are forever grateful.
