Can you believe that Madisen is already 7 weeks old?? I must warn you that this week was a very busy week and I didn't take a lot of pictures. I am so sad about this. I promise to be better next week. Madisen continues to grow and melt our heart daily. The journey of being parents is so amazing and there is nothing like holding your baby in your arms. It is crazy how much her looks are changing. One moment she looks like her Daddy and the next moment she looks just like my baby pictures. At least she is a good blend and a very cute one at that.
This week Madisen went to the Doctor and she weighed 13.1 lbs. I cannot believe that she has went from 8.13 lbs to 13.1 lbs. At least we know that she is growing big and strong. The doctor said that she is very healthy and doing wonderful. We go on the 31st for her 2 month well baby appointment which I am nervous about because she will be getting her shots. At least her Daddy took the day off to be with us and help calm not only her nerves but mine. I hate to think she might be in pain at all let alone hear her cry and her sad little face. Hopefully, she will not even notice like she did when she was in the hospital.
This week Madisen has been staying up longer on her schedule. She used to last about 45 minutes after her feeding and I have been trying to keep her up 10 more minutes because I see that it makes her have better naps. Hopefully, this week we can find what works for her. When Madisen doesn't get good naps she is a cranky baby but she is still a great baby just kind of wiggly and whiney.

Madisen had her Grandma around a lot this week. We are truly blessed to have such a good Grandma. She helped Mommy because Mommy was sick this week. She also helped Mommy so Mommy could say goodbye to a good family friend. Mommy wishes you could have met Mark. She knows that he would have loved you.
We continued to do so more playtime on your activity mat and you love the noises and hitting the toys back and forth. It is adorable to watch you get frustrated and hit the toys because they are in your way. You also love to look at yourself in the mirror on your activity mat. I love when I put you on your tummy you lift up your head so strong and then you start to suck the mat. I don't know what is with you and sucking on anything you can get your little mouth on. I wonder if you will teethe early?
You have been starting to smile so much this week. You love to be on your changing pad and you just smile at Mommy with the biggest smile. It makes me feel so good. You really recognize your Mommy and Daddy and I cannot tell you how much we love it. You also love country music. Your Grandma and Grandpa bought you a cd/radio player for your room and when we change your diaper we turn the radio on and dance with you. YOU LOVE IT!!!!

We have taken a lot of trips this week and you always behave so well. Mommy and Daddy make sure to bring your moses basket, noise machine, pacifier and SwaddleME and you sleep so well. You are the most well behaved baby. Your Daddy and I always count our blessing on the way home because we really lucked out...so far that is ;) we know it could change at any minute but we give a lot of credit to your schedule. We feel that it has made you a very well adjusted baby.
This week you nearly gave Mommy and Daddy a heart attack. Your Angel Care monitor went off the other night at 1:30 a.m. Daddy and Mommy ran so fast into your room I don't even think our feet hit the floor. When we got to your room you were wide awake in your crib looking at us like, "Hey guys, fancy seeing you here this early in the morning." Mommy picked you up so fast and held you so close and thanked God over and over for keeping you safe. Daddy and Mommy cried like babies and needless to say you have slept in your bassinet since safe and sound right next to mommy. You still take your naps in your crib and soon I will place you back in your crib at night but I have to get over that darn alarm goind off. It went off again the other day and I was so thankful to have been in the room when it did because I realized why it goes off. You are still breathing but your are breathing really shallow and the sensitivity isn't quite set right. You can believe I made sure your Doctor checked your lungs and your breathing to make sure that things are normal and he assured me that they were and that I need to not freak out. He obviously is not aware of my history and how much of a hypochondriac that I am.

7 week stats :)
-You wake at 7AM to eat and you fall back to sleep until 9:30 or 10AM. On most days, since we put you back in the bassinet your schedule has sort of changed a little.
-You are doing really well on your schedule, we are so thankful for this. It really does make Mommy and Daddy's life easier and helps us to know what to expect from you.
-You are still doing really well on eating. You love your Good Start Gentle Plus. We are so thankful to Angela for recommending it.
-You still like your activity mat and love being on your tummy.
-You make the sweetest sounds, it is like you are telling us how much you love us and how happy you are. It really brightens up my day.
-We haven't taken many walks this week because Mommy has been sick and was too afraid to take you out too much. We will start our walks tomorrow morning again so don't you worry.
-We found a pacifier that you love and of course you had to like the really expensive one. Still not a very attractive pacifier but as long as you love it that is what really matters. It has really been a life saver when we put you down for naps.
-You are still in size one diapers, but we are thinking that we are going to buy you size 2 diapers today because you are almost ready for them.
-You weigh a whopping 13 lbs and 1 oz. I didn't get your length at the doctors because of course I was asking so many questions I wasn't paying attention to your length but we should get it on the 31st. I do know that you have grown from the last time you went to the dr.
-You still LOVE to be swaddled. Although, lately you have been kicking a lot in your sleep and trying to bust your arms out. You have been successful several times. But you don't sleep that well unless your arms are in so I don't know what you are up to. You make me laugh.
Seven weeks have gone by so quickly. In a few more days you will be eight weeks old and we have hit a huge milestone. You will be able to get your first round of shots which I don't look forward to but I am happy you will have some defense against bad germs. Plus if you were to get a high fever you would no longer be required to have a spinal tap which I am so thankful for. I was so worried you would get sick but you are strong and healthy and we cannot be more blessed. Your Daddy and I ask eachother every day how we got so lucky with such a beautiful healthy baby girl??? I hope you know how much you are loved and how happy you have made our home and hearts.
I leave you with a rough copy of your annoucement. There is one picture missing on this one but I still think it is adorable.
